Sammy Squirrel and the Bad Bridge
CHAPTER 1
High up in the Whispering Oaks, Sammy Squirrel twitched his nose with pure excitement. The morning sun felt warm on his fur, smelling like pine needles and fresh dew. 'Isabelle, look!' he chirped, pointing a tiny paw toward the Great Blue Stream. His sister, Isabelle, adjusted her cozy purple scarf and looked where he was pointing. 'It looks very far away, Sammy,' she whispered softly. But Sammy's heart was set on discovery. He had heard rumors of the Giant Golden Acorns that grew only on the far bank. 'We are explorers today, Isabelle! Imagine the crunch of those acorns!' Sammy declared, hopping from branch to branch with a flick of his bushy tail.
