The Tail of Two Best Friends

The morning sun spilled across the wooden floor like warm, golden honey. Pip, the ginger tabby, stretched his long legs until his claws made tiny clicking sounds on the floor. He trotted over to the soft, velvet cushion where his best friend Luna was still snoozing. 'Wake up, Luna!' Pip chirped, gently batting her fluffy gray ear with a soft, velvet paw. Luna opened one golden eye and let out a deep, rumbling purr that sounded like a little motor. 'Is it time for our morning race already?' she asked with a wide, pink-tongued yawn.
